Chelsea FC vs Liverpool FC 2002-2003

This was back in 2002-2003 Season in EPL.
The match was the last match of the season played in stamford bridge and it was a important one between us and the scousers because this match determines whoever finishes 4th who then qualifies for the UEFA Champions League.
Back in these days, it was before the Abramovic takeover and we already had players such as Gudjohnsen, Terry, Lampard, Gallas, ZOLA!! etc. so screw the people who says we bought ourselves into Big 4.
A match that all Chelsea fans cannot forget.

@230793ew err no you were not. the champions league places obtained in the 2001-2 season were liverpool, man u, newcastle and arsenal.the only reason gerrard wanted to join chelsea was because you had the better team not the fact that you were the biggest club. you're not even the biggest club in london. arsenal and spurs have way more fans.

Easily our most important game in the past 10 years. Without this win we wouldn't be in the Champions League and managed to use Roman's money to temp the likes of Makelele, J.Cole, Robben and even Crespo to come over and transform us. Will never forget this day!

@dickinsm i asked bruce buck the chelsea chairman on chelsea tv why it was said chelsea were close to going bust when other clubs have far bigger debts. i said chelsea could have sold players for millions just like other clubs do. trevor birch went in the dressing room pre chelsea 2 liverpool 1 may 03 and said chelsea have to win. reason roman was already looking and said chelsea had to be in champions league for me to buy chelsea fc not that chelsea was going bust
