never halt in front of a jump lol but man i neeed to start riding again :)

Actually, Maddie didn't ask him to halt. She stopped riding and Wallie offered to stop to help her. He's really good that way.

Also, it's a myth that halting in front of a jump will teach your horse to stop. It can actually help teach a horse not to rush or if you halt and play with backing up to get your horse's motor going, you can actually teach a lazy horse to be braver to the fences.
