Saturday Night Live gets too much credit for inventing evening sketch comedy. SCTV was every bit as funny, or funnier, than SNL In the initial phases, they were actually sent to work for a period out of an old abandoned TV station. That's where the premise of being a bad local station in a bad little town originated. Love these sketches.

@majhiggins i agree.. and then 20 years later, madtv comes along and is better than snl in every year of its existence, but in 2011 which show has survived? snl, of course, by some strange stroke of luck.
