  • QUÉ BARBARIDAD, QUE VOZ !!! IMPRESIONANTE !!!

  • Très belle pièce d'anthologie ...

    Merci Comte .

  • Ruffo wasn't just a big, ringing voice -- his legato in the second half is lovely; and he colors his sound very effectively according to the dramatic situation. His Rigoletto must have been overwhelming in the theatre:) --

  • IL RE DEI BARITONI!!!!!!!!

  • There was much more of a tenor color to his top notes in earlier recordings like this one, but his musicality was with him at birth! "Signori, pietà" brings tears to anyone who has felt the vulnerability of being a parent, I imagine. Whereas Caruso completely "sweeps me off my feet", Ruffa moves me deeply with the absolute truth that is apparent in his great art, identical to the way Callas achieves the same ends.

  • Interesting that the page is a male in this version (well, a grown male). But absolutely glorious singing by Ruffo, it's really captivating.

  • Sublime !

  • his la-daa's were too short vowel sounding instead of long vowel o sounding but i like that distinction

  • voce di leone
