Bells 6, 8, and 10 are seen here being raised prior to the commencement of ringing at Hereford Cathedral. Note the wooden shafted clapper on the tenor.

  • Slight Double Dinging isn't there?

  • Yep, very noticeable from the ringing chamber. The back three go clunkety, clunkety, clunk clunk!

  • I think it sounds a bit like the Imperial March from Starwars!

  • @MrCheez34 Since it has had the wooden shafted clapper, it is possible to raise the bell correctly with only one person on it. (it was me raising it here...)

  • That MUST be dangerous to be up there without hearing protection!

  • @simonbellringer Get the f**kers up

  • how did you raise the tenor properly?? i can never do it by myself

  • @irkibby Whatever that stands for.

  • @MrCheez34 And i did today :D I went in the bell chamber and everything. check out my video. i rang the third :)

  • i want to ring at the cathedral :D

  • @BristolVRchap very nice sounding.

  • @anonmonen it's not at all noticeable outside, but last time I rang at the Cath i don't remember it at all so perhaps it's now been adjusted.
