Crane operator Ivers Simms found himself in quite a predicament when a raging fire breaks out in an abandoned Atlanta building below. Simms sought refuge at the very end of the crane as parts of the crane began to catch fire. The daring rescue by firefighter Matt Moseley is caught on tape by a hovering news helicopter. (1999)

I remember watching this rescue live. It was really cool to watch this unfold.

If only someone had the audio from WGST radio with Kimmer and Keith Kalland describing everything as it happened. I listened to the radio account of this while watching it on TV live as it happened. Wow!

I didn't know that firemen could fly lol. Up until the end, you couldn't see any signs of the helicopter other than the rope that was going up.

By "daring rescue by firefighter" I assumed ladders... not the floating fireman of freedom!
