Welcome to Book Reviews; a feature of apologus.wordpress.com
My name is Uri Brito, pastor of Providence Church in Pensacola, Fl.
Every Summer, our church has a book study for men and women. This year, one of my parishioners suggested we use this missionary biography: Evidence Not Seen by Darlene Deibler Rose. Unfortunately, I have not invested much time in missionary biographies. I discover the work of God in a Japanese prison camp during WWII in the life of a woman who lost everything she loved in this world for the sake of the gospel.
If you want to be encouraged to love the proclamation of the gospel, if you want to see an example perseverance when everything seems lost, humor in the midst of pain, faithfulness, friendship and miracles, a clear example of Gods promise to never forsake His own, this is a great summer read.
This is not a theological treatise on missions, this is a treatise on a faithful life. This is a great graduation gift for a young Christian, especially for young ladies who may be considering the mission field or who needs to see an example of a godly woman who committed herself fully to Gods service.
The book is Evidence Not Seen by Darlene Deibler. Thanks, the Lord be with you. We will see you next week for another book review.
