  • Telstar, I have shown you the patience and respect due to a man who has suffered by our hand, you have received my sympathies and apologies as I have felt appropriate, but you do NOT get to insult Sveinbjörn Beinteinsson. You should be bigger than that if you are to be considered worthy of my further respect.

I insist that you apologise and retract your statements about that grand man!

  • @ollieratted15 My mate was on HMS NAIAD when the ramming took place,he even left his action station to come on deck for a look.....hard as nails the Royal Navy.

Should have put it up them with an AS12 missile from a Wasp.........would not have been anymore rammings then.......tin pot navy/coast guard.

  • @NAIAD49 And then the international community gets pissed at Britain, sanctions, and even the other Scandinavian countries attacking British vessels.

  • we portuguese love and respect the icelandic people! ^^

  • @Icelandsterror skarpur í enskunni.

  • I don't even like fish.

  • guð hvað þetta er fyndið að sjá hvernig ísland vann þetta

  • There seems to be a high level of bad feeling between parties on this thread. I think it fair to point out that the Royal Navy were doing a job given to us by our government and in exactly the same way, the Icelandic lads were at sea doing their duty to the Icelandic government. I cannot recall there ever being malice toward the crews of Tyr, Ver, Aegir and Baldur, but a certain admiration for their professionalism at sea. We were all just doing our duty and trying very hard not to kill anyone..

  • UBIQ.......I was aboard Tartar after your "meeting" with Tyr.....you came up slow in heavy swell on our port side so we could see your damage, wish I still had the photo's. Your interior white paintwork and "X" hatch markings were very clear to see. My bruv was on Falmouth with you then, he said you had a hell of a tricky journey back to Scotland.....Great times tho', never a day goes by without missing the life and the team spirit...........

  • @wkbfutewc

I was aboard the Falmouth when she rammed Tyr, caved in the bow and was later filled with concrete.

  • So how is the overfishing going in UK's waters (or should one say EU waters?) these days? Aside from the sanctified mackerel, the "success story in European fishing."

  • the great Icesave War 2012.
