Water from the Mississippi River gushed through the Morganza spillway for the first time in 38 years Saturday, diverting water into the countryside in hopes of avoiding a potentially bigger disaster in heavily populated areas downstream. (May 14)

Who said anything about that, in times like these all you guys can think of is dividing more and more. There is a time for politics and a time to grow up. Now is the time to grow up and come together as a a whole. When you see stuff like this you should be thinking how can I help, and not stirring the pot! And the same could be said for the 10 people that actually liked that cheap comment!

Morgan City is my hometown & I live only 30 miles from it now. My friends & family agree that opening the spillway is the right thing to do. Not everyone from these areas are whining about the injustice of the opening of the Morganza to "save the rich", only a few are. Yeah it sucks for us. People down here are realistic and smart enough to understand what's happening, and what WILL happen if it isn't opened. It's not a political, international or military conspiracy. It's just Mother Nature.
