Fannish Music Video created for the 2009 MediaWest*Con competition. This one followed the long-standing fannish vid tradition of juxtaposing clips from one series (in this case Burn Notice) with the theme music from another (MacGyver). I started making this one as a live editing demo at MediaWest*Con 2008 and didn't quite finish it, so I completed it (using only footage from season one episodes) to enter into the 2009 competition. (I do not own copyrights to either the video or audio in this fannish music video -- this is a not-for-profit fan vid made to promote this series.)

  • what ep is 0:11 from ?

  • @YvonneRosBecker Don't have any detailed production notes to look back on to be able to answer this specifically, but I can say that this video was constructed "live" at a convention as part of a "how to make Fannish Music Videos" workshop I led, and at the time, I only had first season episodes to work with, and mainly episodes from the first half of the first season. If I had to guess, I would say this had to have come from one of the first 5 or 6 episodes of 1st season. Hope that helps!

  • Ahahah good video!

But Michael Westen >>>>> Mac Gyver

  • @MasterMike31 Hey, they were each great in their day. I was just as addicted to MacGyver and his methods of crimefighting in the 80s as I am to Michael and his talents here in the early 2000s! :-)

  • @cannellfan How old are you?

  • @SuperRsfan 47. I grew up on late 1970s and 1980s TV, and have continued to have a love for the medium to this day. But most of my "touchstone" series, the ones I love going back to watch on old VHS tapes or newly-purchased DVD boxed sets, are the series from the early 1980s -- Remington Steele, Riptide, Greatest American Hero, Magnum P.I., Simon & Simon, The Equalizer, Beauty and the Beast, Max Headroom, etc.

  • @cannellfan That is great! I watched Magnum every week--I loved Tom Selleck. I just bought all of the Remington Steele episodes on DVD about a month ago. I liked Simon & Simon and also 21 Jumpstreet. Weren't the 80s great for music and TV?? I also love Burn Notice and Psych.
