  • aren't you asking to get shot on or your back taken or both by giving your opponent such a deep underhook

  • @aomasakid yes, i will have been shot on, my back taken, and mounted... as well as armbarred and spit on. its the worst.

  • @reillyfornow so snappy so quick, you must be one of those guys that are great to learn under since you take questions so gracefully. it was an earnest question considering it's a powerful position in both bjj and wrestling

  • @aomasakid i'm just playing around with you guys. i'm sorry if i offended anyone.

  • @aomasakid but, to answer your question seriously... when someone has a hold of your belt in this way, circling toward the back would not usually stop the forward roll for the kneebar, nor would grabbing their lead leg for a single. i recommend taking a look at a video titled 'Leg Locks for Sambo and No-Gi Grappling (2nd edition)' as it has competition examples of rolling for leg locks from many angles including when someone is working for a single, and from having the belt grip.

  • I keep hearing that Sambo and Judo are the same thing...?

  • @BayouSnipera both these moves (the ankle pick and the kneebar) are illeal in judo.

how could they be the same thing?

  • great stuff, this looks like magic to me reilly :P

  • can u do this nogi

  • @reillyfornow Ankle pick is not illegal in combination I believe. If you go for let's say an Uchi Mata first, then change direction and pick the ankle it should be fine.

  • @BayouSnipera Judo people often tend to claim that all other martial arts are just bad imitations of Judo.

Vasili Oshchepkov, the founder of modern Sambo was a Judo black belt under Jigoro Kano, but Sambo was influenced by other martial arts a well + both Judo and Sambo have developed in different directions since then.

  • @BayouSnipera Lots of different people say say lots of different things... At least you're one of the guys who asks, instead of knowing everything.
