Late in the 4th quarter on the 1990 NFC Championship game, the 49ers had the ball, a fresh set of downs, and a 13-12 lead. They appeared headed to the super bowl for a chance at a three peat, but nose tackle Erik Howard #74 came up with the big play, splitting the defense and getting his helmet on the ball. Roger Craig fumbled, Lawrence Taylor recovered, and the Giants ended up winning on a last second field goal by Matt Bahr to advance to Super Boal XXV.

49ers didn't give the GIANTS anything, the Craig fumble was forced & the same with Kyle Williams in Overtime, it was forced.

As far as the ball off the knee, that was a just a REAL Bad mistake by Williams; any team (including the 49ers) would've taken advantage of that.

in craig's defense, why would seifert call a running play up the middle without a lead blocker in front of him? why even set up in a split back formation? of course the giants are going for that ball so u would wanna do everything possible to protect roger craig AND the football
