SFX Test - SSS Warrior - Warrior Cats Fan Animation (Part 2-2 Scene)

I'm not in any way affiliated with this group. This is something I did on my own.

SSS Warrior produces these various Animations I've been quite impressed with (this is from Episode 2 - Part 2 of that series.). However, the lack of certain sound effects seemed to bother me quite a bit. I can't seem to fill in all the blanks though.

Personally, I felt like this needed a more... "bone crunching" feeling? Fight sounds usually have this sickening loudness to them and some of them have this really awkward "crunching" effect to denote how hard the hit was. Seemed a bit too soft in the original like it was just a slight pat on the back? Bluh. I really need more hit effects. I think I used the same dead hit every time... I didn't have the original song for this either so I had to work with the original effects for this video too. Not exactly fun times. Though, I think it worked out.

I did redo some of Whitestorm's lipsync, notably at the beginning.

This is pretty awesome.. I'm wondering how long it actually took you to make all this.

Either way the fight scene was nicely done!

@RedRubyDragon6402 Yeah. The animation itself was made by another group. I studied Special Effects animation in College and the sound design for them and thought of giving it a go. I spent quite a bit of time trying to get a "crunching" hit but ended up using some stock recording from some other person. I was so sad....

@cookietoo75 You shouldn't be so hard on yourself, I still think you did a pretty good job on the SFX, it adds an even more professional touch to the animation. :)

@RedRubyDragon6402 Thanks a bunch! TBH I think water sounds are much harder to get. I risked dropping one of my boom mics into the bathtub for that one (the other scene I did has splashes).

@cookietoo75 Haha it would of been really unfortunate if you had, I heard those things are expensive. Still I guess the risk was worth in the end, right?

I don't care what anyone says, i think the fight with whitestorm was great, and it gave him more of a personality. Personally, i think they should have inclueded this scene in the books!

(love the sound effects btw, really gives this animation more depth and realism)

@RedRubyDragon6402 are you referring to the soundeffects or animation? The animation is done by someone else. ^^
