From Humanism to Communism begins in the 1930s with coverage of the social unrest leading up to the revolution of 1933, continues with an in-depth study of Cuba in the 1940s under dictator Fulgencio Batista, and expands into an overview of the turbulent fifties, following the development of the Cuban revolution up to the missile crisis in October of 1960.

Castros Cuba Part I is highlighted to interviews with key figures of the era: Fidel Castro, Fulgencio Batista, Huber Matos, Carlos Franqui, José Pardo Llada, Marta Fraide, Guillermo Cabrera Infante and other.
