I actually travelled on this bridge a few weeks ago. I loved it. Guyana is a great country.

It will be much fastert than using the ferry and having to swap taxis at the river. What become of the old ferry boats?

I spoke to my relatives in Guyana at xmas and they said that the ferry boat has now been removed and taken to Essiquibo and only the pontoon runs twice a day now.
