  • You lucky man. I'll be experiencing the Neu sound here in London in October. The concert is already sold out. There is a great thirst for groundbreaking music largely because hardly anything of worth is being produced today. Folks here are raving about Silver Apples such is the paucity of quality music being produced today. Don't get me wrong, Silver Apples are good but are not in the same league as artists like Can, Faust and Neu.

  • @hairymarx I'm sure you'll love it, they sound terrific in person. Just heard they will be filling the BJM's spot at ATP New York, might have to go back for another round.

  • Fantastic. Beefheart's Trout Mask, Faust's debut, the Velvets debut, Soft Machine's 'Third', Zappa's 'Freak Out' and Neu's debut album from 1972, constitute the foundation of all contemporary 'rock' music.

  • @hairymarx thanks, I saw Faust at the same place last year (it's in here, they were very good too).

  • Ah, great videos, IvyMike. Nice to see you attend the Philly show. I was at New York two nights before.

  • @DaveCromwell Thanks Dave was a great show and they sounded fantastic. I had just seen your videos too, good stuff!

  • wow

  • Ahhhh thanks so much for posting this!!!! I've been to a lot of great shows since moving to PHL a year and a half ago, but I'll never forget this one. So great to listen to this again!!!!

  • Just ordered my tickets to see them at the Barbican in London, Englandshire in October.

I will be the grey haired geezer with my son, the art student-type - oh, hang on, that's all of us !

  • IvyMike777, It's great that NYC laid on the concert for free. Unfortunately, we no longer can see quality like Neu for free in my city. ATP is where the best cutting edge music can be experienced.. I've been to a couple of ATP events in the UK in 2002/2003. I remember seeing some really interesting bands - mainly from the US - Dianogah and Tortoise come to mind. Love US music - Zappa, Beefheart, Velvets, Suicide, Dream Syndicate, Minutemen, Fugazi, Bardo Pond etc. Love to visit NYC.

  • @IvyMike777 Very cool, Mike. Sending you a direct message.
