In 1996 Mona Simpson was selected as one of Granta's Best Young American Novelists. Simpson is a recipient of of the Whiting Writer's Award, a Guggenheim Grant, and the Hodder Fellowship at Princeton University. Her novel Anywhere But Here has been adapted for film.
