Livestock includes three female betas, up to 12 ghost shrimp, one miniature Plecostomus, two Otocinclus, two clams, up to 5 snails. CO2 is made with sugar/yeast mixture, replaced every two weeks or when bubbles stop. Fertilizer is added with recommended dosage per gallon once a week. Eco-Complete Plant Substrate is used on top of regular rock substrate from an old aquarium.

Lighting is one power compact 7100k/10000k 27w bulb.

  • Yeah she is pretty big. I only have the pale white/blue one left. The red one jumped out of the tank and the blue one died. Still have the same setup but only have java moss, java fern, lily, and the water sprite. I also still have the plant that is below the moss ball. It is much bigger now. I really like running the yeast co2. I didn't run it for about a year and started doing it again. After about 2 weeks my plants grew an insane amount because of the co2.

  • is it nesesary to have fertilizer for a planted aquarium or can you just use gravel

  • no not really. a couple months after this vid I ran into a red hair algae problem. I had to do water changes daily for a couple weeks and I treated the water with algae remover which worked but I had to cut the plants that were affected.

I would say if you have a lot of fish the fert should not be applied or you will run into an algae bloom, but if you are noticing that your plants are not looking very healthy it could be because there aren't a lot of nutrients in the water.

  • how much did all them plants cost?

  • I bought 2 ghost shrimp yesterday and today they vanished. I only have 7 plants and a rock so there's no place to hide, and I have a hood. Could my 6 zebra danios have eaten them, or did they somehow jump out??

  • Your female bettas look gigantic.. holy moly.

  • Is the Eco-complete gravel substrate a gravel or sand type of texture?

    Thanks, Alec

  • Love those shrimp. Nice 10 Gallon, here's mine...

  • nice setup that looks awsome

  • dude...like the setup...im planning to buy 2 power-glo 18000k bulbs 15watt...is that too much for a 10g tank? or should i just get one power-glo and 1 sun-glo(6500k)? i dont know much about the lighting and i really want live plants...all i have is java moss which is super hardy
