I was watching 22 News when the second tornado alert was sounded. The sky turned black again over Springfield and it looked like the end of the world. I read how the streets in Springfield turned into a parking lot jammed with cars and trucks - nothing was moving. I can just imagine the fear and panic those people felt. It's amazing those cars on the Memorial bridge didn't get sucked up into the vortex and twirled around in the sky!

Thanks - and thanks for posting this clip. You caught something very rare, though it seems like every Tom, Dick, and Harry was waiting with their cams for the tornado to show up at Springfield. I live in the Berkshires and though we got hammered we did not have any tornadoes touching down; But there was some rotation in the clouds. I was in Home Depot at the time and I remember looking out the window and saying to a customer next to me: "Someone's gonna get hit with a tornado out of this!"

@JohnXX09 Yeah I live in chester. My son and I made a break for it around 6 something and the drive home was terrifying. I definitely expected to find my house in shambles. It's a miracle that more people didn't lose their lives. Could you imagine being one of those folks on memorial bridge when it went over? Wow.

Is this the first or second tornado that passed through Westfield? A second tornado formed in the north side of Westfield around 6 PM.

@JohnXX09 It was the first tornado. It was around 4:30 I believe. I saw a trailer truck coming around the rotary heading towards mobile, and a man on a bicycle heading towards the rotary pulling his arms down shouting. I thought he was doing the infamous gesture to get the truck to honk so I ran towards the window to see what the heck he was doing and BAM...tornado. Definitely not what I was expecting to see and scary as shit!
