My Nintendo Wii running Windows 3.1 and playing MIDI files via OPL3. Emulation is a bit laggy at times, but runs good otherwise.


Stuff used:

Nintendo Wii with firmware 4.2e
2GB SD card
USB keyboard
Wii Remote (To move the mouse pointer)
Homebrew Channel
DOSBox 0.73 (Wii port)
.img file with Windows 3.1 and lotsa MIDIs

  • It lags since it's taking forever to read from a "normal" SD card. Now, if you have one of those faster SDHC cards up to 32GB it might run faster, though I can't guarantee *all* of the lagging will stop.

  • Most of the time you use a PC to emulate a Home Console but this is a Home Console emulating a earlier gen PC.

  • How can I find an .img of windows 3.1 (because I just have an .iso one) ?
