Created with Kega Fusion and Fraps. I had to sacrifice gameplay frame rate for quality, so my playing = shitty.

Recorded @ half-size in full screen mode with 800x600 resolution. I imagine full-size would look better, but the framerate drops below 25 which makes the game unplayable. 800x600 is the best my computer can do.

Which is a shame, because this is a GORGEOUS game when you consider how old it is.

  • I always perferred the Cd version of Ecco the tides of time. The music is so much better.

  • I agree. It's very immersive and it brings the game to life in a way the original Genesis tunes can't, IMO.

  • Ecco es uno de los videojuegos más bellos de la historia... gracias por el video.

  • Yes it is, even today.

    You're welcome.

  • I remember playing the music to this game (portal level) when my dog died in 1995. Sold the system a few months later, so I never expected to hear it again. Brings back so many memories... Thank you.

  • I wish they would relise the sega cd versions of the Ecco games on xbox live.

  • I prefer the music slightly over the Genesis version. When you add to the equation that the music & graphics are both higher quality, and the history glyph cut scenes... the Sega CD version wins hands down. The only problem is most people never played it, because nobody had a Sega CD. I was the only person I knew with one.

This is one of my top 10 favorite games of all time, and probably even top 5.

  • Wathing this again brings me such good memories...

  • The Genesis/Megadrive version actually had MELODIES. Where as the Cd versions seem to focus on sounds of the ocean. I prefer good melodies.

  • I Like the Genesis music MUCH better.

  • This brings back so many memories! Those evil red shells would hurt you if you collided with them. So you blast then with sonar to break them up. Gaining a ring teleports you forward, and missing one drops you behind in the race. What an awesome game. :)

  • I'm not sure what you mean - I have always been able to skip the cutscenes by simply pressing any button on the controller.

Maybe you can't skip them on the PC, but you can on the Sega CD version.

  • The CD version also has cutscenes to portray the storyline more fully.

The annoying part is that you can't skip them, and they're very long. But it's a difference between versions nevertheless.

  • Reminds me of the Pure Moods soundtrack CD's of the mid 90's

  • Is there any significant difference to the CD version other than the music? I have always been a fan of ecco, but am still building my "primary" sega library, and want to know if I should put the CD version off until I have all the great sega classics.
