I was 11 years of age and that day broke my heart. Still not got over it!! Well done Halifax. I went the year after and was sat on the sand on the old dog track around the pitch. Think i was in the Wigan end, 97,000 on that day so im told

First trip to Wembley and we lost. Couldn't believe we didn't try for a drop goal - Murphy should have brought himself on - we'd have won the replay. We've certainly made up for it since though!

that tackle he made on mark elia had a big influence on them winning that day, but maybe i'm a bit biased :)
if you listen to the commentary it says elia drops the ball when quite clearly its punched out of his arm,
it must still haunt mark elia to this day cos to be honest he should really have scored, hey ho never mind, ha ha ha !!!!

If it wasn,t for your uncle John we would have lost. The drop goal and the Disarming of Mark Elia were vital.

what a day, was born in lancashire but with my uncle playing 13 for halifax meant me and all my family were yorkshire through and through for the day, awesome day !!!!!
