Dinah Washington is my favorite female vocalist. She passed when I was only a year old. But thanks to my grandmother I grew up listening to a lot of Dinah's work. I just love her singing style. Even towards the end of her life when her voice wasn't as strong there is just something about her phrasing that sends a chill through me. I sometimes wish I was born 30 years earlier so that I could've been around in when she was at the top. Great post!!
