"arm your weapon!" - oldhacks

There really need to be more NI4D vloggers. Seriously.

This was an off the cuff video I made to describe my thoughts on the direct democracy movement on YouTube. Please excuse all the pauses and "you know" fillers throughout the video. I did not realize how much I was doing this until I watched myself on video. Hopefully, I will improve with experience, but I felt I had to dive in now.

Please watch buddhagem's recent series on democracy if you haven't already:

This is the quote I was thinking about that I flubbed in the video:

"We should be glad and not sorry when a fundamentally wrong notion of which we have been secretly conscious for a long time finally gains a footing and is proclaimed loudly and openly. The falseness of it will soon be felt and eventually proclaimed equally loudly and openly. It is as if an abscess had burst." - Arthur Schopenhauer

  • Hey man, you should do these more often. I personally think its time to replace Representative Democracy with Direct Democracy. NI4D is a great first step but I think it needs to be expanded beyond that.

  • Thanks for the encouragement. I've had ideas for a couple of videos on my mind. I just need to do them when things clear up for me. I really like your channel. Keep up the good work!

I see the NI4D as a tool with limitless possibilities. It would break down so many barriers. It seems so far away given the domination of personality driven politics; it's hard to tell what would happen at the point we overcame these barriers as mainstream thought would change considerably in my estimation.

  • Fricking brilliant first vlog!! Makes me almost intimidated to see what will come in the future!! : )

  • wow, thank you!

  • The face of the ChannelMikeG after two years!

  • I think I started using this channel at the end of December 2007, but I started following Mike Gravel on YouTube around this time, so that's about right! Wow, time flies.

  • Stodles absues language all the time. He's a fucked up person!

Good video. I am trying to spread this message to people as much as I can. I like challenging people with it (especially constitutionalists and Ron Paul people). Usually, the resutls are frustrating, but it is worth it . . . Just to get people to recognize the idea.

  • hey hey! arm your weapon!

  • Very good first vlog. I'd like to see more from you.

  • Your a good dude. Keep up the good work.

  • Have you registered on the wiki yet? As a writer, maybe you have essays that you could contribute.

  • Have you registered on the ni4d issues wiki yet? That's another way to share ideas and research through an organized format text. YouTube comments tend to get buried easily, so I encourage you to check that out. I'm JamesLR100 over there. I'm still learning to use wikis but I am thinking about maybe writing a few essays other there that could translate to videos or vice versa. For instance, I've developed an interest in binary economics lately and could share my research with others.
