No, they still experience pain, but are not IN pain. They are detached, but aware. Aware that the pain is not in their nerve endings, but is merely electrical signals hitting the brain, and then the mind.
And with such excellent control over their brain and mind, they do not run from pain, like most of us, but embrace pain as nothing more than a sensation, on par with pleasure.
