my lennox just started to make the same squeeling / grinding noise. would spraying some lubrication help as a temporary fix? please advise. thanks.

So much for "quiet system". HVACKID94 called it, your condenser fan motor sounds like it contains "sleeve" bearings, AKA metal-on-metal with temporary lubrication. If you care to spend a little extra, replace the motor with one containing permanently sealed ball bearings; you won't have this problem again!
