My family and I recently had the rare privilege to view an incredible collection of mechanical instruments. Near the end of the tour, he played a barrel organ that had several interesting selections. Most of the songs were early Mexican revolution songs. The last song, was this version of "Those were the days". So is this the earliest known recording of the song? Is this actually a traditional Mexican song, instead of a Russian song, as it has been previously known? I will post more information as I receive it.
