Stage 1 Verse
It all starts in Low Growth, That's stage 1,
Everybody was hunting and Gatherin',
For food! It wasn't as easy as it is for me and you dude.
It all happened in 8,000 B.C.
Getting along in life wasn't very easy.
Crude Birth and Death rates were high,
So many people were born and so many people died.
A population growth was caused by the agricultural revolution,
They were able to domesticate crops, a solution.
No country today is in Stage 1,
Good to know 'cause that stage ain't no fun.
Stage 2 Verse
10,000 years after the agricultural revolution,
Something that grew at a modest pace was the world's population.
Countries moved onto stage 2 of the demographic transition,
The population grew by about 5 million.
A lot less people started to die,
So the CDR wasn't very high.
But people were still making babies, no lie
Which means that CBR was indeed high.
Countries entered stage 2 of the Demographic Transition,
All because of the industrial revolution.
Mass production and manufacturing,
a bunch of different goods then delivering,
them to the market were they come to be,
a source of wealth for the economy.
The money was used for sterilization,
Which increased health which increased the population.
Then this lead to the Medical Revolution,
Because these diseases were causing some confusion.
More Developed Countries found these cures,
That would heal fatal diseases for sure.
More developed countries diffused 'em,
so Less developed countries could use 'em.
Stage 3 Verse
Keep on moving we're in Stage 3 now,
The changes you see will make you go wow.
CBR drops and in comparison and is pretty low,
People choose not to have babies, just so you know.
The infant mortality rate is higher here,
The old causes of death start to disappear,
The children grow up and start living longer,
The medical conditions are becoming stronger.
Europe and North America enter during the twentieth century, like them fox shows.
The Crude Death rate drops and starts to slow,
Crude Birth and Death Rate aren't high but the population still grows.
That's natural increase to those who don't know,
That means Crude Birth Rate - Crude Death Rate bro.
Stage 4 Verse
Crude Birth and Death rates are both low,
In stage 4 we near zero population growth.
Where the old population and the one to take it's place,
Don't differ much so there's almost no change.
Women in stage 4 are part of the labor force,
They're too busy and, they're the only birth source.
Social customs say ideal families are small,
So that's what everyone's doing, all in all.
Stage 5 Verse
Stage 5 is the final frontier,
at least nobody is here.
The Total Fertility drops below 2.1,
Which means a negative NIR aka NO FUN.
Low amounts of people leads to immigration,
Which leads to us becoming a more mixed nation.
Immigrants filling in spots,
that we need filled for jobs.
But who really knows,
it's in the future,
only time can show.
