Martin Blythe - Walking My Baby Back Home

Martin Blythe Arranges & Performs Walking My Baby Back Home by Fred E. Ahlert & Roy Turk. I have been listening to the version by James Taylor for many years now and after a recent trip to see Mr Tommy Emmanuel where he sung this great tune I decided to give it ago fingerstyle.

I played this on a Taylor 814ce and recorded the audio with a SE2200a condenser mic into Logic Pro

Hi, I used the SE2200a condenser microphone - XLR - E-mu 0404 sound card then that converts the signal and sends it via USB straight into Logic.

@9Blyb Did you try to sing in it ? Do you think it is adapted for rock music ? I am singer in a rock band, with influences like radiohead, muse, or Rage Against The Machine... I read that it was not that good when you push a bit your voice (it seems distortion fastly appears...). Do you approve ?

@allehelgen No I didn't try to sing it. I focused mainly on getting the melody with the instrument to keep pure to a finger style arrangement. I took influences from Tommy Emmanuel and the rock influence came from James Taylor. You should check JT's version out, his rendition of the tune is wonderful. I would imagine if you push your vocal I would work. Give it ago and let me know how it sounds!
