@ibeezranging I know tetra makes a product called safe start that allows you to immediately add fish to the tank, you think that would work?
-
@VegasSurfer ok do you know of any products that can reduce ammonia because I really want to dirt my tank before I add tons of plants I currently have 9 plants in the tank right now but I am looking to add more
Thanks

@AwesomeAssassin1000 How many inches of gravel do you have? You want close to the same amount of gravel as amount of dirt you add to keep the dirt down. 2"-3" total for gravel+dirt is good.

the dirt you used, is that like regular dirt that we buy at walmart to add to flowerpots?

So changing the water to get the debris out is rather easy, but what would you fo if it was a 30 or 40 gallon tank that would take forever to fill and drain?

@bwfootball30 I would take it outside, and spend a few hours draining and filling xD. It sounds bad but with a hose its not too bad at all

Hey mike I just set up a 15 gallon tank about 3 weeks ago... so its still cycling.. If i wanted to add dirt to it would it completey mess up the cycle and kill all of my fish? please reply

@ibeezranging Dirting a tank causes a pretty noticeable ammonia spike right off the bat. This will most likely send your tank into a "mini cycle" that will take a week or so to pass. In that time if you have fish in the tank death is possible due to high ammonia levels
