You know Mark Dinning from his 1960 classic "Teenangel". He came from a musical family, and The Dinning Sisters of the 1940s were his older sisters. They had four charted hits in the late 40s, but sang from the 1930s to the 1950s. Mark had three other lesser hits, and his second album was beautiful folk songs. Two from this album are included here with a great rendition of "Where Or When" by the sisters, a song that needs to be done well to succeed.
1) Where Or When - The Dinning Sisters
2) Rambling Man - a Hank Williams moody ballad
3) Black Is the Color of My True Love's Hair
I wonder if that's his sisters backing up Mark?
Unbelievable harmony from the Dinning Sisters on Where Or When. R.I.P., Jean.

Gendre is that of Andrew Sisters but vocals aren't as strong. Still very good though.

How sweet these lovely girls' voices are. I wish I had some of their albums. This song of theirs has always been one of my favorites. It sounds like it's Mark's sisters singing backup on "Ramblin Man". He doesn't sound like Roy Orbison but I think the style is similar. Their brother, Ace Dinning, did some shows here in our city years ago, playing a great steel guitar. A really nice guy, too. Thank you for posting. - Paula
