  • Hello TobyParr. Colour films were mostly standard in the 60s along with the blockbusters of that time. Those Magnificent Men in their Flying Machines, The Love Bug, The Jungle Book, Doctor Zhivago, and even The Sound of Music. Horror films were very popular in Tenterden. Hammer double bills were often screened there. They were given X Certificates (for persons of sixteen years and over) Take a look on flickr to see how the Embassy looked inside. The town needs to reopen it again as a 3 screen.

  • @tenterden16 what sort of films did they show and was it in black n white!!!??????.

  • The Lovely town of Tenterden. 0.47, the former Embassy cinema can be seen on the right hand side. I worked as a projectionist there in the 60s until it's closure in 1969. Now an M&Co. Sad.
