I can assure you, that this is, the best norwegian movie made so far! It has a fantastic illustration of the reality that happened on Bastøy. Great picture, a wonderfull and capturing music, believable and talented actors, and a professional and well thought through story line. Marius Holst has outdone himself, and I cannot wait for his next project.

The uprising itself is pretty much true. It happened in the spring though, so the winter conditions are not accurate. The main character is lose based on an 18 year old boy who is believe to be the brain behind the uprising. The boys drove everyone from the island, so parts of the army was sent to help out the police. The movie is fictional, but the conditions, the punishments and all of that is true. It is note-worthy that none of the boys got away, and a few were punished with prison.

most touching movie i watched, very pure Norwegian background, very cold places, the buildings are authentic, deep thoughts, like the story of the whale and the sailors ship, very intriguing
