diesel swap:toyota pickup w/vw turbo diesel

this is a 1.6ltr and moves the truck very well.I have the fuel turned up and the wastegate closed.I made my own adapter plate and machined the toyota flywheel to fit the vw crank.

when u make adaptors for the transmission doesnt the thickness of the adaptor plate mean that the splines dont go into clutch plate as far?

Yes but your sliding it into the clutch thats already on the engine block.So you can space it out if u have to.In this case only a small spacer a couple mills thick was needed

Theres a guy in canada that did the swap and hes getting 35mpg mixed.The problem is you have to turn up the power to move the truck nicely,which inevitebly raises fuel consumpstion

Nope its working.Theres a high volume oil pump in there,and it was 32 degrees out. rotella 15w-40.
