Do It Yourself: Quality Homemade Lip Balm Recipe

Additional Info on the Ingredients:

-Jojoba Oil, Almond Oil, Avocado Oil, Vitamin E, Rosemary EO, and Rose Absolute : purchased from Whole Foods.

- Beeswax, Lime EO, Lemon EO, Mandarin EO : http://Soapgoods.com

- Shea Butter : http://www.agbangakarite.com/

Measurements (makes 18 tins of Lip Balm)

Base:

About 1/3 lbs or 151 grams or 5.3 ounces Beeswax
About 302 grams or 10.6 ounces Shea Butter (twice as much as the beeswax)
About 1/3 Cup Jojoba Oil
About 2 tsp Almond Oil
About 1 tsp Avocado Oil
About 7.5 ml Vitamin E

Mandarin Honey Lemon Balm:
(Remember, I split the base in half, so if you use the whole base quantity, you NEED to DOUBLE these measurements)

1 tsp Honey
40 drops Mandarin EO
30 drops Lemon EO

Double Rosemary Lime Lip Balm:
(Remember, I split the base in half, so if you use the whole base quantity, you NEED to DOUBLE these measurements)

60 Drops Lime EO
35 Drops Rose Absolute
30 Drops Rosemary EO

Where exactly did you buy the awesome round containers? I know in the video you mentioned AC Moore and what not. I checked in quite a few stores around my location, CVS, PathMark, Walgreens, AC Moore, Target. Did you order them online? If you did, unfortunately I won't be able to get them. I can't order online.

"Check a crafstore" is a very easy answer to give! ;D My AC Moore carries candles and....picture frames! Yup that's how wide the range of items they carry!

Great video! Just an observation though: the temperature for adding vitamins and essential oils must be under 35 Celsius Degrees otherwise they are getting destroyed and they lose all their "properties". Also, shea butter is a very "tricky" butter that needs to cool down very fast because (I do not know the exact word so forgive me) is making something like little "balls" in the mixture. Here in Greece we usually put it in the fridge immediately.

@kpkajan Also it is much better than any store bought because the ones in the shop make my lips feel dryer rather than moisturize

@kpkajan So much better. For some reason whenever I use store bought lip balms I get white line on the bottom of my lips from where they seem to build up. Some one told me that its the lanolin but I've tried others that don't contain it and it makes no difference. I made a batch of this and I swear it must be about a years supply. Granted I do keep it with me at all times and re-apply often but it keeps my lips supple and looking gorgeous.
