Woodrow Wilson Classical High School is a secondary school in Long Beach, California, USA.
Wilson High School, in the Long Beach Unified School District, opened in 1925 as the second school in the city. In 2005 Wilson High School was recognized as a California Distinguished School for the second time. Wilson also is home to the Distinguished Scholars program which offers accelerated, honors, and many AP classes.
Wilson High School is extremely diverse in race and economic backgrounds. Wilson high school also has a program called Park Avenue that helps to allow students the opportunity to raise their grades. The school is a "classical" high school, in that it exceeds LBUSD standards and requires additional credits in order to graduate. Former Wilson students and their teacher Erin Gruwell also inspired the movie Freedom Writers, that was made of the collected diaries of the students.
