I think Marie's suppose to be awkward. And that's how Heather Langenkemp tried to make her.

I remember watching this episode a long time ago but not when it was first aired. It was about two years afterward when reruns of Just The Ten Of Us were being aired on USA. I truly loved this particular episode because I admired how the storyline showed that although Marie and Russell were both kind of plain and somewhat nerdy looking outcasts, they realized they had a lot in common and it simply proves there's always someone for everyone.

Just the Ten of us, and Up All Night on USA.... how I miss the early 90s.

Too bad they didn't keep this relationship going. It was very nice.

I love Marie. Not just because Heather's my favorite actress, but her portrayal is wonderful. I identify with Marie because I used to be just like her, in fact, I still kind of am. It's true that this episode shows there's someone for everyone, but why must we think of it that way? Just because Marie isn't a snazzy dresser or a flirt doesn't mean it should be hard for her to find someone. She has a great personality. But that isn't a common thing many men and women look for today.

@HoldOnToYourDream oh,how happy!!! someone for everyone? nerdy looking? this isn't the mall and looks are defined by modern spectacle.

@jsrosa1282 I know, hehe. Heather Langenkamp(Marie)is supposed to be the oldest, but JoAnn was older than she was in real life. I think, the good thing, though, was that JoAnn had that youthful look to her. She could've very well played characters much younger than her actual age. Even now, if you've seen a picture of her, she still looks considerably younger than her age.

@MagnaderAlpha Yes, and Connie was supposed to be about 15 or 16 years old during the course of the show - in real life, JoAnn Willette was 27 when it ended in 1990. Brooke Theiss and Jamie Luner were 19 and 17, respectively, at the time of this episode, thus making them the only two of the "Lubbock Babes" to play realistic teenagers.

lol they put glasses on her and suddenly she's "ugly". But those long skirts are just disgusting.
