@ibaho124 I think they've said that they're Progressive Metal, and to be honest, that seems like the most accurate descriptor. Djent is sorta like Grunge, in that people who love the genre hate the term.

@DontRespondImStupid meshuggah isnt djent retard, and djent isnt a genre is a sound that the guitar has. bands with a djent sound take alot from meshuggah. as for that sound they mix mathcore, metalcore, and sludgmetal

But yeah they are not death....

I think the "djent is just a genre for a specific type of cover band" is a joke mate, about how everyone copies meshuggah/periphery.

@DontRespondImStupid Lamb of God and Chimaira are groovy metal bands. Slayer is thrash metal, but thrash metal and death similar have very similar and overlapping lineages. Djent is just a genre for a specific type of cover band. Meshuggah are heavily within the death metal genre. They're also pretty groovy in a strange way.
