On youtube you can find lots of videos about ham radio. You can find hams that made some videos to hunderstand all about ham radio. Put the words "ham radio" on the youtube search box, and see... Good luck, and like we say... 73's
call sign in phonetics. All us ham op's use that to make our callsign more understandable since certain letters tends to sound the same over the radio. A-alpha, B-beta, C-charlie and so on.

During a contest day, most of the contacts sound like this - short and quite boring -- unless your a contester :-)

The code QRZ means , 'who is calling me?'
PS , you need to re-tune you radio often because it isn't stable enough for SSB signals.

The ham op is spelling out his call sign in phonetics.
That ham is VY2ZW - James from Canada.
Also you can hear his signal report to the other station
