Blair and Brown were an effective hard left double act- at least until their third term. Blairs slick pretense to be an almost Thatcherite hardliner and Murdoch style populist, gave Brown space after a respectably restrained first term, to spend up big on the outdated employment oriented NHS, education, outdated hospitals and social workers. Blair intervened in Iraq and Serbia because he and Cherrie are the ultimate interventionist do gooders, their motive was the opposite of Clinton or Rummy.

    (2) The Government Official statement was tht we went in there because of WMD & when Hans Blix said it is likely there a not any , the governments line was we are going in to free the people. The same thing happend with Libya. How dos a an who has been in power for 40 yrs suddenly become a threat when he ha been killing innocent people for 40 yrs of his reign. You need to watch more independent news.

DR David Kelly was not the weapons inspector. The lead weapons inspector was Hans Blix

If you really believe we went in there to remove psychopathic warlord , then why was it only important after 9/11 to remove him. Why not yrs before? What has Sadams power got to do with the Arab Springs are you that brainwashed that you ant tell the difference between people of a nation wanting rid of a leader rather than a western government who use think tanks to wash up public support.

I totally agree. People are so quick to forget all the good that Tony Blair did. The anti-Iraq War arguments are pretty weak (even though in the past I have fallen into that trap). The only argument against Mr. Blair with any merit is the possibility that he might have been complicit in torture. Apart from that, he was a VERY good Prime Minister.
