Isabella Claire is celebrating her 5th year of life. To invite family and friends to celebrate with us, I created this DVD video birthday invitation. It has been yet another challenging year for Isabella with many struggles and triumphs. She was hospitalized 4 times this year for a total of 62 days. The longest hospitalization was the 8 weeks she spent at Kennedy Krieger Institute's Intensive Inpatient Feeding Program in Baltimore, MD. There she successfully learned how to eat. In November, Isabella's g-tube was removed and surgically closed. In January, unexplained weight loss led us to an endoscopy. With no positive results, Bella was admitted to Children's Hospital of Wisconsin for 3 days in February for further testing. Those tests gave her a new diagnosis of Pancreatic Enzyme Insufficiency and Dumping Syndrome. We finally have some answers and she is beginning to get healthy and gain weight again. Everyone continues to be amazed at how far this little miracle has come in just 5 short years. She amazes us every day and we are so blessed to be the parents of such an incredible young lady.
