Chapter 9: His side.

______Nick's POV______

I guess I should feel a little bad about the whole staying up late thing. I shouldn't have been texting Beth. I should have known that I would get caught for it too. Even though I'm still kinda angry about it my mom is right. The tour kicks off today and I can't be acting like I'm half asleep.

I'm not sure what went through my head when I saw Jocelyn leave. I'm not sure what went through my head when she left BECAUSE she was following Joe. I mean I know she doesn't like him or anything but I mean come on she could have stayed and waited for me. It wouldn't have taken that long. I haven't really talked to her since yesterday. Maybe it's just me but I feel like she left pretty quickly. As I was thinking this I came out of the my room with my stuff and saw her finish setting her stuff down and look over at Kevin on the back porch. I wondered what was going on in her head. I was about to say something, hoping that maybe she'd explain her behavior. I forgot about Kevin though. He came in with a smile and I saw him about to say something too, but it was too late. In the blink of an eye Jo was already past me on the stair and heading up to her room. I was a little perplexed. What just happened?

I looked over at Kevin after a couple more seconds. He had the same confused look, although he shrugged his off as soon as we heard her door shut. I walked the rest of the steps down the stairs and set everything down. Joe suddenly appeared at the top of the steps with a tired look on his face. I was about to ask why until I saw Frankie scamper to his side, huge smile on his face.
"We finished packing all of my toys." Frankie shared with a grin.
Poor Joe. Nuff said.

______Jocelyn's POV______

Ugh. What's wrong with me. I need to talk to him. I can't just avoid my best friend since forever. Why am I worried anyway? He has her and I can find someone else. Everything will be fine. She can have him, he can have her. That is such an easy solution and everyone is happy. I like it. Almost. Would I be happy? Could I live with seeing them together? could I live with seeing him with anyone but myself? I guess I really don't know the answer. But I do need to talk to him. In the car I decided. I would talk to him in the car. I would be nice and everything would be fine. No big deal.

I sighed. I needed to pull myself together there is no way on earth that I could even be remotely convincing when I was acting like this. I did a last look around the room and tried to see if I left anything that I would need. After finding nothing important I grabbed my purse and made sure everything I needed was in there. Yup. I was good to go and thats exactly what I did. I walked down the stairs and saw that almost everyone was there. The only people who weren't there were paul and Kevin who were loading the bus with the remainder of our luggage.

"Okay does everyone have everything?" Denise asked. I knew she wouldn't want to come back before or after the concert today. She wanted to avoid any unnecessary side trips so we could get to the next city on schedule.
"Yep."
"I do."
"Me too."
"Me three."
"Good. Now everyone head to the car so we can leave."
And we did. I sat by Nick the way I always have and he smiled. I saw his phone out on his lap and knew he must still be texting Beth. Stop it. I need to get a hold of myself. Its no big deal. Relax. Breathe. And as if answering what I already knew his phone buzzed and he started typing away.
"Who you texting?" I asked even though I saw Beth's name pop up on the screen each time. But what happened next was something that not even I, his best friend, expected.
