why would we have to reboot our ipod more than once? Rebooting is when you reset your ipod right? Or does it just mean, turning it off and then back on?

I updated my iPod touch 2nd g to redsnow but it was having some problems so I restored back to normal can you tell me a better jailbreak than redsnow pleaseee?
