@aki1337 You can do a few different things to get more control. One thing is to tap the hi hat with either your left or right hand (start with the stronger hand) and then hit the bass drum. Repeat in an alternating pattern, gradually speeding up as you get comfortable. You can also do a straight, steady beat using "four on the floor" if you want to coordinate both hands and your foot. Do the basic beat that Jared does in the video, but use the bass drum on all four beats.

@xXChallengermanXx Get the one from Sound Percussion (they sell it at Guitar Center). It comes with everything you need, i.e. the hardware - go for the pack that comes with cymbals too if it's available. Also, make sure that you have a drum throne (the stool).

Whenever you are sitting for a long period of time just keep your heel on the floor and start tapping. Over-exaggerate the motions; bring your foot ALL the way up until you can't flex it anymore. Then bring it down. This really gives your muscles a wake up call, so can start developing power and control.
Gradually try to speed it up over time and alternate doing the same thing with your left foot.
Why am I watching this, I've been playing for 4 years...
