Man Wants His Kidney Back In The Divorce

$1.5 million or his kidney back. That's the strange ultimatum a New York surgeon has given his estranged wife.

Dr Richard Batista donated his kidney to his wife Dawnell in 2001. His attorney claims that she began having an extramarital affair a couple of years after the transplant. She filed for divorce in 2005.

Dr. Batista decided to go public after four years of divorce negotations. He wants the donated kidney back, but will accept $1.5 million in compensation.

Mrs Batista and her attorney had no comment on the suit.

The couple has three children, ages, 8, 11 and 14.

The marriage was going sour before she had renal failure. He did it to save a failed marriage and guilt her to stay with him.

How come she still has the kids?

And bringing this up to the press is making HIM look bad, not her.

Another reason why you should ALWAYS either sign a prenup or not get married. I'm not saying all women are gold diggers (far from it), but it's NEVER easy to tell if you got one.

Only in AMERICA can a woman cheat, take the kids, the house, everything, in total disregard that she would be DEAD were it not for the man she ruined - and the courts let her get away with it. Only in our "free country" do we have such "justice". I bet the Iraqis are laughing their asses off at us right now.

Let us see: She cheated on him after he gave her his kidney, which was a perfect match (1/700,000 chance). She had two prior transplants that failed. After the divorce, she keeps the kids, the house, and attains child support, while enjoying her new relationship with her physical therapist.

Ungrateful. Rational individuals can point out when the feminist radical views have reversed the tables on men.

I don't agree with it, but I can understand why other cultures keep women in check.

I wish I could be one of these women. Married to a rich man and not working, getting free kidneys...living in a fancy house that I didn't have to work for. And NO having 3 kids is not WORK. I had to try hard to NOT have children, if I had been careless, I could have had tons of them by now. What a shame for the Dr. (probably married her for looks, anyway) I hope he has enough money to get married again hopefully to someone who loves him.

I absolutely feel that this guy deserves some compensation though for what she did. I dont think she should lose her life and give back the kidney . That would be selfish on his part , not to his wife , but to his kids who love there mother . Unfortunately for the kids there in the middle of all of this . Im sure its hardest for them . Forgiveness is really hard when somebody screw you over , but it's the only real way to get past something .

I work at the same hospital as this doctor and every time i see him i want to tell him how sorry i am , but i never do , im sure he doesnt want to talk about it . Could you imagine , the news i read might be wrong on the numbers but they said finding a kidney donor is a 1 in 700,000 chance . He must have been thinking that this is fate, that they were meant to be together . what are the odds that they would be a match . If it was me i would think it was a sign from god that we were a a match.
