Many atheists like to exploit apparent errors in the bible. In this series of videos, I will be refuting some of the claims made by them.
In this episode, I refute the apparent contradiction between 2Kings 8:25 and 2Kings 9:29. The former claims that Ahaziah began to reign in the 12th year of Joram, the latter in the 11th year.

  • Contradiction... God says don't kill but murders all the first born in egypt and floods the world killing most of all living things. Seems like he was a big murder, worst one ever if you believe the bible. Is it just do as I say not as I do.

He creates man without the knowledge of good and evil and then punishes them for being evil.

  • See video number 2 of this series.

Man gained knowledge of good and evil when the deliberately disobeyed God and ate from the tree.

  • I saw the 4 links. two being your website and your twitter. One listed a 1599 Geneva Study Bible. The other listed nothing. Please advise ?

  • Not sure why that would be. The links are from a site called lookinguntojesus and a blog called skepticsannotatedbibleresponse.

  • I only found a reference to a 1599 Geneva Study Bible in your description links. Please advise ?

  • There are 4 links in my description, the last two being my website and twitter. The first two are sites I used as sources for my video.

  • @1dtants humans did ^^

  • nobody created God because He didn't need to exist

  • (I will proofread my comments in the future, but I think you get what I was trying to say in the last comment)

  • The issue with the first solution that both passages say Ahaziah ruled for only one year. In light of that, it seems difficult that you could say he reigned two years, unless those years weren't full years...

The second explanation is has similar issues concerning parts of years- but there is probably a more correct answer having to do with ancient scribal mistakes or misunderstandings. Too bad very little of Chronicles is preserved in the Dead Sea Scrolls.

  • Hi Boredom. You have a problem. It's that you're relentlessly searching for an excuse to reject God. There are very logical and reasonable explanantions for any Biblical text you wish to cite. And if you wish to give them a hearing, they're out there. It's quite clear that your real issue is that you do not wish to submit to your Creator and are seeking to justify your rebellion by "attempting" to tear down the Biblical text. You can shout at the top of your lungs, it won't change the Truth.

  • Then if you're really so informed, how do you apparently not know that God repeatedly killed children in the Old Testament?

  • Yep...actually have translated big parts of Genesis from Hebrew myself....that's what I'm trying to tell you, Boredom, you think you're informed, but it's clear that you're actually quite ignorant. Stop speaking and try listening to others who have more knowledge than you. The truth is there if you wish to find it

  • Um, have you ever actually READ The Bible? Particularly Genesis, Exodus and Job?

  • Hi Boredom! You should use some of all your spare time to actually try to understand what people who have different opinions from your own are truly saying rather than making accusations of a "cop-out". It's a little unclear what you mean by "God is allowed to kill children"...all the killing of children I hear about is done by abortion doctors, abusive parents, and school classmates. God gives sinful people the freedom to sin...and He will judge them for it.

  • And yet God is totally capable of being evil Himself, and some people on here alone use that to justify being evil themselves.
