I saw this video on the internet and it amazes me that this lady is still alive! It is sooo scary! If this was me I would.... well i dont know what i would do?!?!
so scary...glad your okay! i wouldnt even read half the comments on here...some of them are aweful and they dont have a clue because they were NOT there. so many things could happen barrel racing and they wouldnt know what happened here because they were not the ones on the horse...
I love barrel racing! Just so some of you know, barrel racing does not hurt the horse. If the right bits are used, spurs are used properly, everything is just fine. Most barrel horses love to barrel race, and they get all crazy before the run and the rider can't keep him/her still. I don't think horses would get so excited like that if they didn't like to do it. Trust me, a horse would let you know if him/her didn't like something.
@91520lastar Please. They aren't dumb. No horse is 'dumb'. Either their rider is, which this lady was doing what she should have, or they were spooked. Now, maybe the bit was cutting their mouth, causing them to try to get the reins off, or maybe the turn was to harsh the horse freaked and didn't know what to do. But no horse is just 'dumb.'
Honestly, it looked like either the bit was hurting the horse, or he/she just freaked out. Genuine accident. So glad she's alive, I was almost surprised she survived that!
haha o my, well that wasnt the horses fault, clearly she had a malfunction with the bit, and/or that horse is just not cut out to be a barrel horse.... and to all you people hating on barrel racing.. really?! dont comment or watch it! barrel racers treat their horses with more respect than damn show ppl, believe me i would know. I have done every event, worked with many professionals...... soo thanks for posting your meanigless comments about how "harsh" barrels are.
@trancefur I have to agree with you. Too many times have I seen people whipping their horses with leather whips or spurring them. The buts they use armrest way too harsh. They either need to tone it down a bit or get off the horses back until they learn. People can talk crap about me all they want but I am against barrel racing just like you. :)
