Shot at multiple locations on the Delaware-Lackawanna C425 2423 leads three MLW/ALCO siblings on heavy Eastbound grain. Trailing the 2423 are C636 3642 (nee-PRR), M630 3000 (nee-BC Rail), and C425 2453 (nee-EL).
As our train digs in, the opening scene is the east portal of the DL&W's famous Nay Aug Tunnel immediately out of Scranton. From here she starts to pick it up a little bit, hammering through Moscow, PA. Next is the crossing at Lehigh Summit and the windy swamp immediately west of Gouldsboro, PA, both favorite spots for railfanning.
After dropping the three tank cars on the end-of-train at Keystone Propane in Tobyhanna, PA, the heavy loads, under the capable command of engineer Mike Vassallo, blast through "Steamshovel Curve" on the former Lackawanna mainline east of Tobyhanna. We close with our lovely ladies walking into the Horizon Mill at Mount Pocono, PA to pick outbound empties.
