  • What tamiya paints and/or mixtures do you recommend on painting these Tamiya German Soldiers? Cause their default Field Grey ISN'T Field Grey at ALL.

  • @SAFORecruitment01 - I prefer to use Vallejo model color acrylics. The base is German field grey. The highlight is green grey. For the shades I use black grey. I only used Tamiya paints when I first started and I'm not too thrilled with the results.

  • @2paintminiatures Yeah, I've beginning to realize that most modelers use Vallejo, but I'm having problems with accrylics that they don't apply very well, did you use a surface primer with these, and last question did you assemble it full or by parts?

  • @SAFORecruitment01 -You will definitely need surface primer cause acrylic paint wont stick on plastic. I prefer to assemble the body parts first b4 painting. The accessories were added later.

  • @2paintminiatures I figured as much about the surface primer, it doesn't matter if it's gray or white primer right? Also I was thinking about that the accessories comes later. Thanks a lot, by the way. I'm really new at this and never was good at painting.

  • @SAFORecruitment01 - The primer will have an effect on the final finish. White primer if you want a lighter finish overall.Use grey to have a mid tone finish. This works only if you dilute the acrylics and apply in thin layers.
