THE KEEP, awesome book... terrible movie. Took place in , well... a KEEP or a castle, but there was a huge underground chamber where they kept the vampire. Well, in the book it was a vampire. In the movie, it was a bad video game villian with huge neck muscles. They missed out on a good WWII story with vampires. Oughta remake, couldn't be any worse!

I remember two other underground horror movies: The first one comes from Takashi Shimizu: "Marebito", it's so strange and really amazing...a mix of vampirism and a secret underground world. The other one comes from Michael Mann, i don't remember if it takes place in a cave or something like that, but it's worth to watch, (the problem is the script, it's terrible). It's call "The Keep" with Jurgen Prochnow, Gabriel Byre and Ian McKellen.

I loved The Descent. Very creepy, although it became too much of a Dante's Inferno spoof, with a lot more blood.
I did rent The Cave, but every time I watch it, I keep falling asleep before the ending. It was ok, nothing really special (even though I liked Piper Perabo). Hopefully, I'll watch it one day all the way through.

You guys are just great. It's nice to see some film geeks who aren't just motor-mouthed fanboys, but discerning viewers.
And you're literate, thank God!

This video is rendered invalid by the omission of C.H.U.D., the definitive underground horror film.

Yeah. That opening scene where they all took the group photo was what did it in for me. I suddenly felt like I was watching "St. Elmo's Fire". It really took me out of the movie.

Agreed with you about The Decent. I thought it was a good initial idea about subterranean creatures, but the actresses were terrible as was the script. Still those fine looking girls, but no sexy stuff pissed me off a little too.

Other than the heroine the other female characters in THE DESCENT were so damn annoying. I couldn't wait for them to die! LOL! I agree there should've been more girl-on-girl action.

I thought The Descent was awesome. I have claustrophobia, so the scene where one of the chicks gets stuck. Man, my heart was pounding. A gory, visually good, semi-scary and entertaining horror movie goes a long way. The Cave on the other hand was more like a... Well a PG-13 movie, and that's not just because of the lack of gore. It was filled with this fucked up blue and green lighting. Looked like a Fast and the Furious movie. The overall feeling was unrealistic and cartoony.

One thing you can say about My Bloody Valentine, is that it gave the name to one of the best indie bands in history.
